NVivo courses

COURSE FORMAT – these course are hands-on, led by a tutor, with the opportunity to practise the techniques by completing tasks and exercises supplied by the course tutor.

 

NVivo Part 1

PREREQUISITES – Participants are not expected to have any previous knowledge of this software. This course is suitable for beginners.

CONTENT – Create a new project to import your project data ; import, save and backup your research materials in the project ; create thematic Node structure & code your sources to the thematic nodes ; create Case Nodes and classify them by their demographic attributes ; organise Externals.

 

NVivo Part 2

PREREQUISITES –  Participants must have completed the “NVivo Fundamentals Part 1” course

CONTENT – import & work with datasets e.g.  survey data created in Excel ; create Models to explore, visualize, summarise your current understanding of the project ; use Memos for writing field notes, research journal, etc ; create connections between your sources using Annotations, Hyperlinks and See Also Links.

 

NVivo Part 3

PREREQUISITES –  Participants must have completed the “NVivo Fundamentals Part 1” and “NVivo Fundamentals Part 2” course

CONTENT – create & use Framework Matrix to reduce, summarise and manage large volumes of data or documents.

 

NVivo Part 4

PREREQUISITES –  Participants must have completed the “NVivo Fundamentals Part 1”, “NVivo Fundamentals Part 2” and “NVivo Fundamentals Part 3” course

CONTENT – create & use different types of queries to help you answer research questions ; explore & visualize project data using various visualization  techniques
